DOUGIE LEE POYNTER IS AN ENGLISH MUSICIAN, SONGWRITER, FASHION MODEL, CLOTHING DESIGNER, AUTHOR, DJ, ACTOR, PHILANTHROPIST AND KING OF THE JUNGLE! HE IS THE BASSIST AND YOUNGEST MEMBER OF THE POP ROCK BAND MCFLY.

Having signed their first record deal since 2009, McFly are back and ready to release a new album that sounds "naturally and quintessentially us". Today, the four band members – Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter – bounce off one another with the same infectious energy they always did. When they were busy becoming one of the most successful chart acts of their era, racking up 19 top ten hits including seven number ones in just under a decade, McFly were known for being a rock-solid musical unit. A line they'd say in interviews – "It's not always easy, but McFly's here forever" – became embraced by fans as a kind of unofficial band mantra.

McFly released a new album ‘Young Dumb Thrills’ (November 2020) – their first album in 8 years - which went straight into the UK album charts at no.2. They sold out London’s 02 arena last year which signalled the band’s comeback and have a sold out arena tour lined up for 2021

In November 2013, McFly joined the band Busted to form the super-group, McBusted. They played a 34-date arena tour called The McBusted Tour. It was the biggest UK tour of 2014. McBusted concluded the tour headlining the British Summer Time concert series in Hyde Park where they performed for an audience of over 60,000 attendees.

In addition to his work with McFly, Dougie has written collaboratively for talent such as 5 Seconds of Summer and One Direction. He also worked alongside seasoned artists Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) to develop the album for the McFly + Busted supergroup, McBusted.

Along with bandmate Tom Fletcher, Dougie is behind the bestselling picture book series The Dinosaur That Pooped. Illustrated by Garry Parsons, the series has sold more than 1 million copies, published by Pan MacMillan Books

In 2011 Dougie was crowned 'King of the Jungle' and winner of ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! reality TV show.

He has also appeared in numerous high profile TV shows with McFly, With cameos in episodes of Dr Who, Hollyoaks and Casualty, through to shows such as Little Mix; The Search/ F Word/ Top Gear/ Deal or No deal, plus one-off ITV specials The McFly Show and All About Us
